UFSC’s Controllership and Finance Congress


About the Congress

The UFSC Congress on Controllership and Finance and the UFSC Congress on Scientific Initiation in Accounting are in their twelfth edition. It is a joint event that has been held by the Department of Accounting Sciences and the Postgraduate Programs linked to the Department of Accounting Sciences at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Both events started in 2007, being held every year, followed by editions every two years and returning to an annual edition since 2017. Its consolidation over the years has allowed the joint realization in the 6th edition with the 9th Iberoamerican Congress of Accountancy and Management. Such initiative was encouraged mainly with a view to the search for the internationalization of Brazilian accounting research, which is one of the challenges of the Postgraduate Programs in Accounting Sciences. The 11th edition also included the 4th UFSC International Accounting Congress, with an international lecture in its program. The 12th edition also featured the 5th UFSC International Accounting Congress, with an international lecture in its program. The objectives of the Congress are: (i) to provide researchers in accounting, management, economics, production engineering, law, social sciences and related areas, a space for the development and discussion of relevant and current themes; and (ii) to promote the structuring of research networks, at different levels of knowledge, aiming at the presentation, discussion, and dissemination of scientific advances that are being produced in the different regions of the country in the area of controllership and finance as a response to current and future social and economic situations. The target audience are: students, professors, researchers and professionals from different regions of the country with interest in the Congress thematic areas.
